Dr. Jerome Weinbach manages the TRYLEIDIAG consortium at Inserm Transfert. Between March 2001 and December 2003, Dr Weinbach prepared and managed several EU-funded projects from the Leiden University Medical Center in the Netherlands (Prof. Willy Spaan), notably the HCVACC and HepCVax networks which brought together 22 laboratories from eight different countries of the European Union. These clusters aimed at the successful development of preventive and therapeutic vaccines against hepatitis C virus (HCV). Since then, Dr. Weinbach has also prepared and is now managing a STREP on SARS (diagnostic, antivirals and vaccines development with EU/Asian partners) and a Network of Excellence called VIRGIL focussing on antiviral drug resistance (hepatitis B, C and Influenza) gathering 66 laboratories all over Europe. He also recently assisted the Canadian CANVAC group for the preparation of an international Bill and Melinda Gate Foundation-funded “Grand Challenge” project on immunomonitoring (HIV, TB, malaria and HCV), which involves numerous research groups from African countries.
To fulfil his management mission, Dr. Weinbach takes advantage of his membership in the European Association of Research Managers and Administrators (EARMA), his former complementary experiences both in research (Ph.D. in virology and gene therapy / lecturer in cancer research) and as the Fench Embassy Scientific Attaché for life sciences and biotechnology in Germany (1996-1998), then in the United Kingdom (London, 1998-2000). He is familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures and his decisions rely on extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals.
Dr Natacha Edme has a large experience in research as she received her Ph.D. in molecular biology at Institut Curie, Paris, France and performed a postdoctoral research in biophysics at King’s College London, United Kingdom. Then, she had a position in research administration at Human Resources Department of INSERM as promoter for researcher mobility. Notably, she was active with scientists in the preparation of proposals for the European Marie Curie Actions. She started her activities at Inserm-Transfert as junior project manager in the management of TRYLEIDIAG and in the communication activities of the Network of Excellence ViRgil. Since 2003 she also has been being lecturer in microbiology and immunology for medical students. |
